GlazeScout helps potters compare mid-range glaze colors using photographs of fired manufacturer swatches. Search by brand, glaze name, or product number, then choose a glaze to see similar-looking colors from another manufacturer.

GlazeScout Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

GlazeScout is operated by YB Creatives, LLC/GlazeScout.com ("GlazeScout," "we," "us," or "our") at glazescout.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information when you visit our website, use our glaze comparison tool, register for a trial, purchase access, or contact us.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with GlazeScout, we collect the following information:

  • Account and trial information: Name, email address, account identifier, and trial start and end times.
  • Purchase information: Billing contact details, transaction reference, purchase date, payment status, and access entitlement.
  • Communications: All information and communication can be sent to our general email at hello@glazescout.com

The glaze comparison tool can generate a comparison file for online viewing. Creating that file does not itself upload the comparison to us. Any additional logging by the live website is described above.

Please do not send payment card details or sensitive personal information through ordinary support messages.

3. Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Stripe. Its handling of personal information is described at stripe.com. Card information is entered directly into the Stripe's checkout and GlazeScout never receives card details, and  we do not retain any card information. Also card information is never stored on the glazescout.com servers.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate the website and provide access to the glaze catalog and comparison features.
  • Create and manage accounts, administer the 3-day trial, and verify paid access.
  • Process the $39.95 USD yearly renewal purchase, applicable taxes, and any refunds.
  • Send necessary account, trial, transaction, and service communications.
  • Respond to questions and resolve technical problems.
  • Detect misuse, secure the service, and prevent fraud.
  • Maintain business records and meet legal obligations.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may affect login, checkout, or access controls. Preferences are logged into our backend database.

6. When We Share Information

We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect legal rights and investigate fraud or security incidents. If the business is transferred or reorganized, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate notice.

Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising: Information is not sold or shared for cross-context behavioral advertising.

GlazeScout displays swatch photographs hosted by manufacturers or their image providers. Loading those photographs connects your browser to those providers, which may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser information, and request time. Their privacy practices apply to those requests.

Product links take you to external websites. GlazeScout does not control their privacy practices, cookies, or checkout systems. Review their policies before providing personal information.

8. Retention and Security

We retain information for tax purposes for up to 5 years. Some records may be retained after account deletion to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent fraud.

We use Stripe and SSL technologies to protect personal information. No website, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure.

9. Your Choices and Privacy Requests

Contact hello@glazescout.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may also have rights to obtain a portable copy, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or opt out of certain uses or disclosures.

We may verify your identity before acting on a request. Some information must be retained for legal or legitimate operational reasons. We respond within the periods required by applicable law.

If promotional emails are sent, you may unsubscribe through the link in promotional emails. Necessary account and purchase communications may still be sent.

10. Children

GlazeScout is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

11. International Processing

We also use Stripe which is available in 195 countries for all international processing. Depending on currency rates between the US and other countries could potentially change pricing.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service, our practices, or legal requirements. The effective date identifies the current version. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by applicable law.
